My approach to work and life:
- bake progressive civic values into online and offline programming
- build easy-to-use programs for people at different places on the learning curve (beginners, intermediates, experts)
- build programs with discipline and sharp focus on developing excellence in one area at a time and don't attempt to do everything alone
- not afraid to say, 'no' to an opportunity if it doesn't feel right within the context of my values and the people i serve
- build on the experiences/attributes that work for the people i'm working with
- not arfraid to kill stuff that doesn't take off
- design programs with ample opportunities for members/users/customers to contribute to the community
- actively contribute to communities of practice with different values and perspectives
- strive to share as much of my work in public as possible via my wiki, and other appropriate tools in order to help others benefit from my learning, mistakes and victories
- architect programs and offerings for community engagement and distribution
- embrace diversity by enabling users to find an appropriate place for themselves within and among the community
- make champions of others
Technical standards/aspirations:
- only html & css
- ensure accessibility and usability
- x-platform development w/ consciousness of mobile user needs
- engineer for serendipity
- encourage connections to others
- ensure privacy is sacred
